Major Storm to Affect the Central United States

A significant storm is going to affect the central third of the United States Monday through Wednesday evening.

Wind
High profile vehicles will have issues in the High Plains plus the winds will be strong enough to cause at least scattered power outages.

Snow
The late data this afternoon indicates that the upper atmospheric low pressure system will be even more dynamic than originally thought. While I believe significant amounts of snow will fall as far south as I-70, I agree with the latest models that there is a chance 1-4" could fall as far south as the Missouri Ozarks. There is a chance I-80 in Iowa could be closed due to snow and wind.

Severe Thunderstorms
Damaging thunderstorm winds is the greatest threat with this weather system, although there will be a few tornadoes. I'll have more on that tomorrow.
