Blizzard Warning Extended (Again) + Ice Storm Warnings! 10pm Saturday

In Kansas, power outages are increasing rapidly. That will continue tonight and Sunday.
Radar at 10pm
Precipitation across the area is increasing geographically. There are many areas of drizzle in eastern Kansas that are not being depicted because radar does not detect drizzle well.
We are now starting to see power outages in Kansas with about 1,000 homes and businesses without power. It will only go downhill from here.
The forecasts depicted below still look good. This will be the last update of the evening.

Blizzard warning extended into the north suburbs of Kansas City and into north central Missouri. Also, lightning and thunder will occur tonight in the blizzard warning area in Kansas. At 6:40, I've added far southern Nebraska is added to the blizzard warning. Locally heavier amounts of freezing rain/snow will occur with the thunderstorms.

- Blue = winter weather advisory (a lesser condition)
- Dark green = winter storm watch
- Magenta = red flag (wildfire) warning
- Sand = wind advisory
- Gray = dense fog advisory
- Turquoise = freeze warning
Blizzard warning in effect that includes Wichita, Topeka, Manhattan and Salina. It also includes the Kansas Turnpike, I-70 and I-135.
Ice Storm Forecast
Where you see the color change to purple and darken, it denotes freezing rain of at least .25 inches. Over southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and along the Ohio Valley to Louisville are accumulations of 1". Power outages have not yet begun to occur but they will and some areas may lose power for days!
Snowfall
Blizzard conditions will occur at times over the eastern half of Kansas, especially near the Flint Hills.
