"Particularly Dangerous Fire Situation" - Updated 8:20pm PST

There are now two fires menacing the Southland. The Palisades Fire 
has been burning all day.
The new inland fire is called the "Eaton Fire" and it is near Pasadena.

The above fire has increased rapidly this afternoon. It was evidently started by fireworks just after midnight.

Those are the words of the National Weather Service in Los Angeles pertaining to tomorrow's (Wednesday's) fire risk. The highest risk is the purple area in the mountains above Los Angeles and Oxnard.


While today is a "critical" fire day, tomorrow is forecast to be even worse. In the strongest possible terms, make sure you have prepared your property as best as possible and have a "go kit" in case an evacuation is necessary. 

I was told some have trouble, especially newer residents, imagining a major wildfire. To the extent that may be true with our readers, the photo is from 2021 in the New York Post.
