Terrific Article About the Latest Luxurious Climate Fun-Fest -- Updated Friday
I highly recommend this article:
The latest global climate conference opened Monday in Azerbaijan. The timing is excellent. Any doubt regarding the wisdom of the next Trump administration’s likely pullout from such meetings should be dispelled by the conference photos alone. Here are tens of thousands of well fed, well-dressed members of the global elite—activists, employees of lavishly funded NGOs, armies of government bureaucrats, hundreds of heads of state—who have all travelled via jet and private plane to this remote corner of the Earth and who expect that every minute of their day will be supported by abundant, magically available energy. None has sacrificed a single personal comfort to save the planet.
COP29 is primarily a meeting of climate grifters as the New York Post and Bjorn Lomborg point out. The Telegraph calls it "an embarrassment." The Wall Street Journal says:
that it hopes the sky will not be "too clouded by the exhaust of all of the private jets flying in." In fact, there were more private jets flown to Dubai for COP28 than for the Super Bowl! This included people who want the rest of us to eat bugs (really!).As Professor Glenn Reynolds puts it: I'll believe global warming is a crisis when the people telling us it's a crisis start acting like it's a crisis.
Yes, global warming is a problem and yes, it is imperative we decarbonize energy. But climate science has been come overpopulated with grifters and those primarily interested in power and money. Here's hoping the Trump Administration can keep the quality people and programs in place (and fund them adequately) while rooting out some of the grift.
ADDITION: The two buffet lines serving meat are packed (just one of them is shown in this screen capture):
The vegetarian/vegan buffet is, shall we say, less busy.
You can find the original video here. Some of these people want the rest of us to eat bugs to 'fix' the climate. I can't overemphasize: while there are certainly exceptions, COP climate meetings are largely composed of hypocrites seeking power and money.
