It All Comes Down to a Squirrel
Wall Street Journal |
There's only one reason: it is to send a message: "We are the government, we have the muscle and the force, and you better not cross us!" Does this sound like America to you?
I wasn't planning to write an election day message this year. But, the horrific treatment of Peanut the Squirrel and its owners changed my mind. This is America for gosh sakes. "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave." This sort of planned, and ever more frequent, governmental abuse cannot stand.
As usual, President Reagan said it best:
If freedom in America falls, there is no other refuge.
While I wish Donald Trump was stronger on the First Amendment, Kamala Harris has made it clear, many times, she has no respect for individual rights whatsoever. As Snopes (hardly a conservative apologist) notes:
The video showed Harris saying, "Just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home, doesn't mean that we're not going to walk into that home and check to see that you're being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs."
No warrant. No respect for rights. 'We're the government and we don't have to respect the law" is her attitude.
I wanted Ron DeSantis as the Republican nominee this year. But Trump got the nomination, has stood up to being shot, and has demonstrated he is in touch with ordinary Americans.
Kamala Harris wants to abort babies up until, and just after, birth. She has no real accomplishments of any kind...none. Zero. If she wins, she will be Obama's fourth term. I have no appetitive for that.
So, if you value your rights as an American and believe that smaller, better government is a worthwhile goal, the choice is clear: Donald Trump for President.
P.S. This was posted on Twitter this morning.
I'm so old, I remember an America where we respected the result of elections and wished our opponents well. As the Peanut example illustrates, today's leftists are authoritarians who wish to use government to punish people -- even someone like Musk who has contributed so very much to America!
