Preview of Olympic Opening Ceremony
I was getting a haircut this afternoon and the 2024 Olympics' Opening Ceremony was on live (2:30pm in Wichita is 9:30pm in Paris). It was generally sickening.
NBC will show this in prime time this evening and I wanted to give you fair warning as to what to expect. Below are three screen captures.
P.S. I'm watching the great Chariots of Fire this evening (which I taped several days ago) in stead of the putrid opening ceremonies.
What you seem offended by is a modern day staging of the Feast of Dionysus, Greek God of festivity and feasting and ritual and theater
ReplyDeleteThe Olympics are from Greek culture and tradition
French culture is deeply rooted in feasting and festivity and performing arts
Appears you’ve never visited France, or Paris, to culturally acclimate
If that is the case, why were men wearing women's dresses in the "fashion show"? Why have the French cut the offensive parts our of their opening ceremonies commemorative video?
DeleteEven the French concede it was meant to refer to The Last Supper: https://apnews.com/article/olympics-2024-opening-ceremony-last-supper-criticism-9dd5fc5f1849ce9b0720fa997f38ed27
DeleteWorst Olympic opening ceremony in history. The French should be embarrassed.
