Sierra Blizzard Update

1:50pm Sunday: I-80 remains closed with no estimated time of reopening.
And additional 12-24" is forecast to fall before the storm essentially wraps up tomorrow. Amounts may end up slightly less than forecast but when you consider there were widespread gusts of 70 mph or stronger, everything is essentially shut down.

This is an image from Truckete, California from less than an hour ago.
I read this week that snow doesn't accumulate to more than about 5-6 feet. Beyond that, the weight of the additional falling snow compresses.

Cars are still being pulled from drifts on multiple highways.
This has been an amazing storm -- and modern weather science provided five days of warning.
