Frank Borman, Rest in Peace

Frank Borman, pilot, astronaut, and business leader has passed away at age 95. He was the captain of Apollo 8, the first time -- in the history of mankind -- to travel to another planet. His biography is here
Above is Apollo 8's 1968 Christmas Eve broadcast from the moon to the earth. My family and I sat watching the television and absolutely in awe of what we were seeing and hearing.

Frank took the iconic "Earthrise" photo (below).

As president of Eastern Airlines he was determined to run a first-class passenger experience and company but industry trends and the U.S. economy were against him. I remember that, with a single exception, flying on Eastern was a pleasure.

Frank Borman: rest in peace.
