Desperately Needed Rain Falls on the Central Great Plains

While much more is needed, and some areas missed out, this was the most widespread rain in months.

Let's begin with the the drought conditions of this week, before the rain.

Below is an overview of the rain for the 24-hours ending at 9am. Little rain fell south of the KS-OK border.

I've zoomed into the 4-state area of Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. and added some city names.

Farther south, more than four inches fell just north of Pratt, Kansas ("P"), near the town of St. John,. That is west of Wichita.

Below is the radar at 10:04am. The area of showers in central Kansas is forecast to enlarge and spread east and north. While not heavy, it will be some additional rain to the region.
