Moisture Status of Winter Wheat

Update: 10:37pm. After a look at the evening computer models, the forecast below still looks good.

He is the Palmer Drought Index as of February 14, which is the latest available. I have highlighted the winter wheat belt.
Brown/red = dry.  Green/Blue = wet.
The Palmer Drought Index is a long-term measure of drought.

Departure from normal rainfall the past 60 days.
Currently, the driest part of the winter wheat belt is in Kansas and, especially, Oklahoma to west of I-35.

There is some good news. Rain and, on Sunday, thunderstorms are forecasted to occur over the next ten days.
