Ice Storm Update, 3:50pm

Update as of 4pm:
The NWS is predicting another 0.1 inches of glazed ice in the next two hours. The heavier icing is forecast to be northwest of the Metroplex.

The storm total precipitation ending at 3pm shows the areas that have received the worst glaze ice.
The city most affected again is Austin, which suffered so much two years ago during the Valentine's Week blackout. I-35 is closed in the area due to power lines across the highway. Below is a map of the power outages. In terms of people, about 750K are without.

Here are the latest National Weather Service warnings. 
  • Deep purple = ice storm warning
  • Pink = winter storm warning for ice
  • Green = flood warning 
  • Light purple = winter weather advisory
