"Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?"
That's a line from a "Chicago" song that was popular when I was in college. Interestingly, a half-century later, the answer appears to be "no."
I have a camera, iPhone and MacBook, all of which allegedly have GPS chips that display the correct time down to the second. Except, they don't.
There is a difference of approximately 1 minute and 40 seconds between them!
The reason I learned this is because I am revising a paper on tornadoes that is going through peer review. When I got down to a second-by-second review of what occurred (via photos taken on my iPhone and my camera), it wasn't making sense. Now, I know why.
As soon as I learn which is correct, I'll come back and let you know. In the meantime, if you are doing some sort of work where the precise time is important, you'll want to be aware of this issue.
