Here are the color codes on the map which is current as of 4pm EST Monday.
  • Red = hurricane warning.
  • Pink = hurricane watch
  • Yellow = tropical storm watch.
  • Amber = tropical storm force winds which, for Nicole, is quite a bit more extensive than usual.
The overall forecast has not changed much since this morning. The National Hurricane Center is forecasting now Tropical Storm Nicole to become a minimal hurricane with maximum winds of 75 mph at landfall Wednesday night.

Below is a map that shows the composite path of the various models.
However, the maximum winds may or may not be near the center in this case.

There is a storm surge watch (pink) in effect for most of the Florida east coast to the north of Miami Beach.
