4pm Tornado Forecast Update

The National Weather Service said they are likely to issue a tornado watch for the area outlined in red above. In addition to the possibility of strong tornadoes, they are calling for "strong, damaging" wind gusts and very large hail. It includes Des Moines, Ottumwa, Kirksville, Quincy and Ft. Madison. 

They also comment, and I agree, the dangerous thunderstorms will begin to develop between 5 and 7pm. The worst of these storms will occur after dark, which makes them especially dangerous. Please see the posting below for safety suggestions.
