Derecho Potential Again Tonight

Again, with the caveat that derechoes are terribly difficult to forecast, we may see one develop this evening and continue well into darkness. Let's break it down:

Damaging Wind Risk
Damaging winds are defined as gusts of 60 mph or stronger. Where you see hatching, the forecast gusts are 75 mph or stronger. Red has an enhanced risk of those gusts occurring while yellow has a significant risk.

Tornado Risk
The brown area has a significant risk of tornadoes.

Large Hail Risk
Meteorologists define large hail has 1 inch in diameter or larger. Where there is hatching, hail larger than 2 inches is forecast to fall. There is an enhanced risk in the red area and a significant risk in the yellow area.

I will update all of these this afternoon.
