High Wind and Tornado Threat Update

The tornado threat in the Upper Midwest has increased to one where there is an enhanced risk of tornadoes and one or two of those could be strong.

Tornado Risk
There is a significant risk of tornadoes in the brown area. There is an enhanced risk in the yellow area and the chance of a strong tornado or two. The highest risk will begin after 2pm in eastern Nebraska.

Damaging Thunderstorm Winds
There is an extreme risk of damaging thunderstorm winds in the hatched area. Gusts could reach 90 mph. If a warning is issued you should go to the interior of your home and stay away from windows!

In the hatched area, the highest winds will start after 12 noon. I urge you to bring in Christmas decorations and other items that can be blown about to protect your home.
