The Russians Still Use Slide Rules -- And, It Is a Clever Idea
Having gone through my engineering and meteorology courses in the early 1970's using a slide rule, I know how valuable they can be. But, they are also slow. So, this story would not seem to make sense. But, as Glenn Reynolds points out, they can't be hacked and they don't give out in a nuclear electromagnetic pulse conditions. Very smart of them.
