Ruh Roh! Tropical Storm Barry in the Offing?

It is the time of year to make sure you have your
hurricane season preparations completed.

The National Hurricane Center says there is an 80% chance of a tropical low developing in the northern Gulf of Mexico over the next five days (red).
However, I added the yellow lines to indicate that just beyond the five days, as there is a significant chance the tropical low, which may be tropical storm Barry at that point, will drift into the Louisiana or north Texas coastal region. If the system gets that far west, hurricane development is not out of the question.

While this is all very preliminary, it is time to insure your annual hurricane season preparations are complete, especially if you live in the northern Gulf Coast region.

Check back: I'll keep you informed.
