6:40pm EXTREME FLOOD DANGER
The area outlined in purple has an extreme danger of additional flash floods tonight (until 8am Saturday). Already 3 to 5 inches have fallen from parts of Wichita northeast through the Flint Hills near Cottonwood Falls. An additional 2 to 5 inches of rain will fall overnight in many areas!
The red area in Oklahoma has not yet had as much rain as in Kansas but heavy rains are likely to continue for another few hours, at least.
If you live in these areas, I encourage you to hunker down on high ground tonight.
To illustrate the dire nature of the hazard, in Ponca City we have roads washed out and buildings collapsed (via Twitter).
In Wichita, cars are stalled out all over the city.
