First Tornado Watch in Effect: Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi
The NWS has issued its first tornado watch this afternoon. The watch is in effect until 11pm.
Please note there is a "high" risk of tornadoes and a moderate risk of "strong" tornadoes (EF-2 on the enhanced Fujita scale or stronger). There is also a high risk of 60 mph thunderstorm-generated winds.
The first tornado warning of the day has already been issued. Please monitor the weather in this area. You can follow me on Twitter @usweatherexpert for updates.
It is likely more watches will be issued this evening and overnight. However, I no longer live-blog storms on this blog. I do plan to update once this evening.
