We Are Going to Reinstitute a Policy on the Blog

I tried, for a while, to delete forecasts of routine weather events. I didn't want evergreen stories about weather and climate to be hard to find through the clutter of routine tornado watches, to name one type of forecast.

Turned out, there were readers who liked all of those forecasts, so I suspended the deletions. I have not heard from them recently, so I have decided to try it again with a compromise. If the storm is a record event or historically significant, it will stay. The routine will still be deleted after a week or so.

For example, the entire set of forecasts and coverage of the recent record floods in the Midwest and Ozarks will stay. The tornado watches will be deleted.

This is effective immediately.
