2pm Hermine Update Regarding Flooding

There are two sources of flooding with a tropical storm/hurricane: heavy rain and storm surge. AccuWeather's regional radar shows the storm at 1:45pm CDT.

Here is the NWS's forecast of rainfall with the storm.
Remember, some parts of Florida have received heavy rains already. These additional rains make flooding likely where the heaviest rains fall. This threat extends inland to North Carolina into Saturday. A flood threat may develop farther north if the system stalls.

You can see the storm surge could be a little above nine feet in some areas. The storm surge is also forecast by the NWS to back up the Suwanee River.

Please prepare accordingly.
