The Rains Are Falling!!

For those of us in agriculture country, there is nothing better than to watch rain end a drought. And, it is occurring as I write these words.

Let's begin with the rain that has already fallen. Below is the map of rain during the 24-hours ending at 7am CDT this morning.

Next, is a map of the rainfall the the seven days ending at 7am. Note the change in color scale. This represents the rainfall since the change in the weather pattern.

Here is the AccuWeather regional radar from 9am this morning:

And, finally, here is the forecast rainfall for the next seven days.
Please note the areas of very heavy rain forecast in Texas. Flooding might develop if the rains are not spread out enough over the seven day forecast period.

Beyond seven days? Forecasts are not particularly good at that range but, from what I can tell, the weather pattern will stay favorable for periodic rains as opposed to the drought pattern the Great Plains have been in since December.
