Flood and Tornado Update: 3:55pm CDT

Interstate 40 in western Oklahoma, near Erick, is closed in both directions due to flooding. Since I lived in Oklahoma in the early 70's, I don't remember it being closed between OKC and Amarillo due to flooding. More than six inches of rain have fallen in the area.

AccuWeather Regional Radar at 3:45pm shows very heavy rains falling in much of Kansas and western Oklahoma. Flood warnings are now out in a number of areas.

Here is a photo of the water about to come over I-40 before the road was closed. Photo taken about an hour ago.

A third tornado watch is now out for southwest Texas.
Please keep up with local weather information
