Stormy Start to Week

After an evening of tornadoes in Iowa yesterday, more tornadoes and severe thunderstorms are forecast today and tonight.
The 5% areas are where a significant threat of tornadoes exists.

Below is the SPC forecast of damaging winds where 15% is the significant threshold and hatched means wind gusts may exceed 75 mph.

And here is the forecast for 1" or larger hail with 15% the significant threshold. The hatching is where 2" or larger hail is forecast to fall.
Flying, especially in the Northeast, could be a mess this afternoon.

I will not be live-blogging the storms today but will have some updates later. For more go to AccuWeather.
