Rare "High Risk" of Tornadoes

Most years only have one or two "high risk" days for tornadoes. Some don't have any at all.

Yesterday, Arkansas had a high risk. For the second day in a row, parts of the South are now under a "high risk" of violent tornadoes.
On a tornado outlook map like this, 5% is the significant threshold. Hatching is where violent tornadoes are forecast to occur. Fifteen and 30% values are quite high. The values are defined as the probability of one or more tornadoes within 25 mi. of any given spot.

If you have friends or family in these areas, please make sure they are aware of the threat and planning accordingly.
