Midwest: Major Winter Storm

Lime green in Iowa and Minnesota is a blizzard watch for Wednesday night and Thursday. The dark green around the Great Lakes is a winter storm watch. The magenta and dark brown are cautions for high winds and wildfires. The blue in central Nebraska is a travel advisory for light snow or ice.

Here is a first approximation of snowfall amounts -- but, with high winds, there will be blowing and drifting.

Flooding

Due to the possibility of heavy rain falling on top of a heavy snow cover, there is the potential for flooding in the Midwest.
