ATC Communications from Sunday Crash in Aspen
There are many pilots that read this blog because of the close connection between meteorology and weather. We provided real-time information on the crash at the Aspen Airport early Sunday afternoon. That material is here if you wish to review it.
The ATC communications are here:
The aircraft had executed a missed approach. The crash occurs on the second landing attempt. The accident occurs just after the 5 minute mark. ATC, may have prevented a second accident because they visually noted a chock wedged into the wheel assembly that might have caused a problem on take-off.
For non-pilots: Listen if you wish, but there is not much "sensational" here. Just people doing their jobs in a tragic circumstance.
