Potentially Dangerous Storm
7:03pm. As feared, this storm continues to strengthen. The deep purple is likely 4" hail and it may be being driven by winds of 60 mph or more. Very destructive.
Just confirmed: Cracked windshields and damaged trees in a number of places in Rice Co.
UPDATE 6:58PM
6:53pm radar. The purple color southeast of Little River is likely 3"+ hail with at least 50 mph winds. The storm is moving in the direction shown by the blue arrow.
I'm concerned about the storm moving toward south central Kansas, including the Wichita area. Conditions seem to be developing for very large hail and 3" or larger hail as forecast in the watch (see below). A tornado could not be ruled out. Below is the radar from 6:40pm.
