5pm: Storm Update
Tornado watch (see below) continues for southern Nebraska and northern Kansas.
Radar now shows thunderstorms with very large hail near I-80 in the Elm Creek - Kearney area at 5:50pm moving N to NNE.
Thunderstorms hail, high winds and the potential for tornadoes are closer to the KS-NE border moving E to NE. People from Franklin to Agra should keep a close eye on these storms. Radar at 5:52pm.
Farther south, thunderstorms that may produce strong winds are in west central and southwest Kansas.
The storms near Russell will likely turn severe with the potential for tornadoes as the evening progresses.
