Bald Eagles Return to Wichita

The Wichita Eagle is reporting that the bald eagles that winter along the Arkansas River in Wichita have returned for the season. Since the first pair has returned, there will almost certainly be more. It is usually very easy to observe them during the winter. So, if you are going to be in the area and have never seen them in the wild, come and join us. The best area is downtown where there are walking paths on both sides of the river.

Of course, it goes without saying the eagles should be left alone. Bring a pair of binoculars. Those huge wingspans are a magnificent sight.
