Come and Join Us Tuesday Evening!
Reminder about the Wichita Chapter, American Meteorological Society meeting Tuesday at 6:30pm. We begin with dinner (Hawaiian chicken for the entree) followed by my talk. The public is welcome. There is a $20 charge for dinner for non-members.
The presentation will be The Joplin Tornado: A Second Look. Since civilian tornado warnings (as we think of them today) began in 1957, only one tornado has produced a triple-digit death toll, the seventh-most in U.S. history. Why did the Joplin tornado cause so many deaths? And, what can we do to prevent a recurrence?
The meeting will be held at the HQ of AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions in downtown Wichita. Free parking. More details here: http://www.wichita-amsnwa.org/ upcoming
