"Very Well Done!"

A new review of When the Sirens Were Silent was posted at Amazon Friday but I haven't had time to get it posted due to Isaac and the heavy rains in the wheat belt.

Just like his other book, "Warnings," "Sirens" is a very well written book. Mike Smith tells the story of that awful day in Joplin, Missouri, in May of 2011 and makes you feel like you're a part of the story. While Sirens can pretty much be read on its own, it is a fantastic sequel to "Warnings."

You can see the review here.

Sirens was written with the specific goal of making sure nothing like Joplin ever happens again. As Isaac unfolds, we see the important role that local officials contribute to the warning and response process. While the reviews indicate anyone would enjoy this book (or Warnings), I believe it is an especially important read for those involved -- directly or indirectly -- in warnings the public.
