Storm Total Rainfall Up To 7am CDT Friday

Substantial rains have fallen in the last 48 hours from the Colorado Rockies into Kansas River basin. One small area southwest of WaKeeney, KS is estimated to have received just over 5" of rain. A NWS cooperative weather observer 8 mi. NNW of Jetmore, KS reports 4.25 inches as of 7am.

How much more rain will fall?

Here is the National Weather Service forecast from 7am this morning (the ending time of the rainfall on the map above) through 7am Monday morning. You would add the amounts from the two maps to estimate the "storm total" rainfall at your location of interest.
So, soil moisture conditions for wheat planting will have improved when planting time rolls around in the next few weeks.
