Isaac Update 8:30am Sunday, Effects on Florida

To make this easier, I'm doing an update for Florida now and a second part for the northern Gulf coast which will follow shortly.

AccuWeather Regional Radar, 8:15am, click to enlarge
Isaac has strengthened a little to 995 mb with 65 mph winds the last few hours. You can track the storm while it is in the vicinity of south Florida using AccuWeather's Mapspace radar by clicking here.

There is a tornado watch in effect for south Florida. If you live in the watch area, please monitoring local media and/or NOAA Weather Radio for local warnings.

I've watched the Key West as well as regional radar and, at the moment, the center of Isaac is moving WNW to northwest. There is no significant threat that the center will affect Tampa. However, wind gusts of 40-55 mph are possible there tonight and Monday morning.

I'll have an update for the northern Gulf coast as soon as I can finish analyzing the data.
