It Is Called GLOBAL Warming for a Reason
While people in the U.S. keep trying to pin global warming as the cause of the heat wave and drought, take a look at this story from Great Britain:
BRITAIN is facing its “worst ever” summer with cold wet weather ruining family holidays and blighting the Olympics, forecasters warned last night.
Meanwhile Anthony Watts at WattsUpWithThat posted yesterday's worldwide temperature map which depicts temperatures in deviation from normal (scale at right).
While the U.S. heatwave is certainly visible as is heat in parts of Europe, northeast China and Greenland, most of the map shows near normal or colder than normal weather.
The catastrophic global warming crowd hopes you are gullible enough to extrapolate the heat in the eastern two-thirds of the U.S. (about 2% of the world) to the entire planet.

Alas, the Arctic faces another meltdown this summer http://www.canada.com/Arctic+faces+another+deep+meltdown+this+summer/6864739/story.html
ReplyDeleteHi Smiff,
ReplyDeleteHere is what the data shows: www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/seaice/extent/AMSRE_Sea_Ice_Extent_L.png
The problem is that we don't have satellite coverage before the late 1970's. There is strong anecdotal evidence there was less ice in the late 50's and in the 30's than now but we don't know for sure.
