Tornado Warnings: Commercial Aviation and the FAA Still Don't Get It

This blog has extensively covered the fact that pilots of loaded airliners were not informed of the tornado approaching St. Louis Lambert Airport, the giant hail and 93 mph winds threatening Omaha's Eppley Field, and, earlier this month, the tornado that just missed Dallas-Ft. Worth's International Airport (8th busiest in the world).

Unless something is done, there will be a completely foreseeable catastrophe. Yet, the airlines and FAA are, in some ways, paying less attention to the risk of weather disaster than they were a quarter century ago.

I'm happy that my friends at Climate Central realize the threat and posted an update on the DFW incident this morning. You can read it at the link.
