Using the idea of tipping points to scare people into action loses its effect when forecast-after-forecast proves wrong.
The long litany of unverified tipping point predictions (that the media never seems to revisit) tends to falsify the catastrophic global warming hypothesis. Take yesterday's and future versions with a huge grain of salt.
