One More Time...
In Chicago changing planes and, as I write this, a CNN anchor (didn't catch the name) was being rather rude to an expert (also, name unknown) for stating that science has no way to forecast earthquakes. The anchor seemed astonished when the expert stated that fact.
I'm not sure why there is so much confusion on this issue and we've talked about it here on the Meteorological Musings Blog before. Suffice to say this afternoon: There is no scientifically accepted way to forecast earthquakes. I wish there were. We need to devote more resources to this goal.
