A "Heads Up"

I usually spend very little time on weather more than 5 days into the future because meteorology has little skill with long range forecasts.

But, because of the holidays, I want to give you a "heads up:"  There is the potential for a major storm around New Years weekend between the Rockies and the Great Lakes south to the Gulf coast.

So, as you travel, please keep that in the back of your mind and recheck the middle of next week if you have plans to travel in these areas that weekend. If the storm does develop, you may wish to adjust your travel plans.
