One of the Most Amazing Images Ever
Courtesy of Thierry Legault, the International Space Station with the space shuttle attached in front of the sun (with a sunspot on the solar surface):

The solar panels are at top and bottom with the shuttle at left center (at an angle to the sun's surface).
The images were captured on film (see, it is still good for something!) with an exposure of 1/8,000 of a second. There was only 0.49 of a second to catch the image!
