Rainfall Outlook in Wheat Belt

Here is the amount of rain, in addition to normal, needed to break the drought.
The good news is that rain is forecast over the winter wheat belt between about the 6th and 20th. Here is the rainfall amount forecast for the next seven days.

There is at least one more storm beyond this seven day period. Here is the U.S. GFS's forecast for the 12th through the 20th (same scale as above).

While lighter, the European model for the 10 to 15 day period has rain falling over this area, as well.

So, it appears that welcome moisture may benefit the 2013 winter wheat crop. I'll keep following this closely as these two weather systems unfold.
